Happy New Year gang!!!
Well it's here team and just as expected, The first Monday of 2016 packed the house! Some familiar faces and some new, they all brought that ENERGY that Total Fitness is known for. I'm not in favour of the whole "New Year, New You." It enforces an idea that something magical is going to happen that allows you to do the things you couldn't do last year. Having said that, I do recognize that the entire idea of a fresh start works really well for some people--so for those of you jumping into new programs, new gyms, or new goals, I support the heck out of you and I'm here to help however I can. To get you started off on the right foot. I've created a personal contract for you to download and fill out for your own personal goals. Send me a copy too if you wish. It will help keep you accountable. Be sure to register for your FREE membership to access it. 💪 In the meantime, be sure to send me your New Years Fitness Resolutions. Lots of prizes to be won. Prizes to be won at random; Protein shake gift card ( 3 shakes) $25 Gift card $100 Gift card to go towards a 3 month membership. I've prolonged the contest until my birthday...Feb. 1 "building healthier bodies one rep at a time" The time is here when we all make those fitness resolutions. The self promise to lose weight, get stronger, get fit , etc.. Unfortunately most fail and give up. Here is my list to guarantee success. It might not be sugar coated but if you follow them you will succeed. Rules; 1. Don't tell anyone about your fitness resolutions. If you've done this before your friends will roll their eyes and think “here we go again”. This is not the time to get any negative feedback. 2. When eating out with friends, don't say “I can't eat this or that cause I'm on a diet” {refer to rule #1} Athletes go on diets, bodybuilder, boxers etc… Your simply changing your way of eating. Don't need to announce it to the world. {refer to rule #1} 3. Cheat days. It's not about stuffing yourself with all the junk you crave and feeling ill afterwards. Enjoy a simple reward at the end of the week. Never tell anyone your having a cheat meal. Just have it. {refer to rule #1} 4. Clean your environment. If your circle of friends are creating negative influences that will sabotage your health goals, maybe it's time to open yourself to friends who have the same goals as you. This could only encourage your friends to change their lifestyle. If not… Well too bad. Stick to your plan. Part 2 to follow...
Sitting here this morning in my quiet studio I received a FaceBook Memory. A reflexion of 2013. You can read it at the bottom of this entry. The thing that stood out was having clients lose a combined weight of 379lbs. I did a quick calculation of how much weight members have lost since then...700lbs!
A few years ago I was at my friends wedding and was seated beside a successful business owner. Of Course we spoke about business for a tiny bit. He asked me "how the gym business was going." I replied "pretty good" "But it's not a money maker" he replied, "but I guess if you like doing what your doing its alright." The last sentence stuck with me for the whole night and days, and weeks later. It wasn't a bad thing. I started questioning myself. Why do I do this if I can bring more money home working elsewhere. Running a business with only your wife can be quite stressful. Long hours away from home and kids. Sacrificing a normal social life, even with family. There have been times when I wanted to call it quits. However at the right times I would be reminded why I am doing this. Seeing a Facebook memory showing I helped clients lose 379lbs, then almost 700lbs since then. That's 1000lbs fat loss since July 2013. This is why we do what we do. After reading somewhere that Kahnawake has the highest obesity rate per capita in Canada, I took my 20 years of experience and I started this business to get Kahnawake healthy. We've branched off to neighbouring cities and now online. We do this because this is the path that was chosen for us. I measure success not in the dollars in my pocket, but with the accomplishments I see in our members. Rock on Team Total Fitness! We will see you next year! "Just did my last class of 2013. |
