In 2014 Iori:wase and Total Fitness teamed up to bring you the Get Fit Challenge. This isn't another "Biggest Loser" type challenge. This challenge is about creating awareness to our community the health related issues that we have, and how implementing a sensible eating plan and exercise can help prevent and eliminate certain health issues, such as obesity, diabetes, and depression just to name a few.
There's more to "Fitness" then getting a bikini body. For us, it means much more. Having a healthy mind, body and spirit is what we consider Fit. With the help of Greg Horn and Iori:wase and the staff at Total Fitness we have had 2 successful Get Git Challenges to date and plan on having a successful outcome this year as well. The selection process was not an easy one. Out of all the applicants we received we had to choose 6 participants. I believe the ones we chose will be very successful. To find out who were the chosen ones, check this weeks edition of Lori:wase on newsstands Thursday. You can also check the Get Fit updates here, as well as on The Get Fit Facebook page. Hello!
The title pretty much sums up the New Years Fitness resolutions. A brand new start of the year, a great time to focus on them fitness goals and based on my online feedback, some of these goals included;
Now to have goals is one thing. To accomplish them is another. Have you been training to reach them? I'll tell you, everyone here at Total Fitness Studio came into 2016 super dedicated. I've been seeing the ladies adding a little extra weight on that bar, getting off their knees and fighting for those push-ups. Some are even attempting chin-ups! Great job!! However, with high goals also comes with high ambitions. If these ambitions are not met that's when we get into that rut. Slow steps is the key. I heard a quote a long time ago. "Don't do today what can't be done tomorrow". To me it sounded like a lazy man quote. However as I'm wiser now I realize that was a wise quote. Aim at small attainable goals which will lead into bigger ones. Now to the fun stuff. I'm always asked how strong should I be? What should I be lifting. My answer was to always attempt to be stronger then yourself and not anyone else. Yes I know... Not what we want to hear. Well I found a cool website that compares your lifts to everyone else in the world that registered. It's based on age/ and sex. Click the pic if you wanna compare yourself to others. You will need to register for a free online membership. Studio members automatically get VIP memberships once approved. Motivation is running high at Total Fitness. People have set their fitness goals and are hard at work conquering them. I'm seeing the ladies adding a little bit more weight to the bar, I see some attempting the chin-up and "Real Deal" push-ups. I see a new look of determination on their faces which is needed for progress.
I gave some a particular goal to conquer. I can't wait for them to attack their knew goal orientated workouts over the next few weeks and see their progress. I've included a few important links below incase you missed them. See you all tomorrow! 💪 GETFIT REFERRAL PROGRAM YOGA |
